The first annual TJ Memorial Golf Tournament was held on June 17th 2016 Legacy Ridge in Westminster Colorado hosted the tournament and we had fantastic, sunny weather. Over 90 golfers participated and everyone had an amazing time. With everyone’s participation and generous donations, we were able to raise $12,500! Our recipients were The TJ Myrick Memorial Scholarship at Regis University’s Loretta Heights School of Nursing, and Caruso Family Charities.
Our first honored guest of the Tournament was Melissa Howell. Melissa is the first recipient of the TJ Myrick Memorial Scholarship. She received this scholarship during her junior and senior years. With the help of the TJ Myrick Memorial Scholarship, she is now a registered nurse currently working the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood Colorado. Don't miss her inspiring speech. You can read the transcript of her speech HERE.
The second honored guest was Jerry Caruso. Jerry is the founder of the Caruso Family Charities. The Caruso Family Charities are dedicated to assisting families who have a child, adolescent or young adult being treated in Colorado for a life-threatening disease or life-altering event. Through their Funding Families Program, their mission is to relieve financial pressures, such as rent, insurance payments, energy bills, co-pays, and many other financial burdens so the family may focus on caring for their sick child as well as the whole family.
The 2016/17 Regis University Loretta Heights Nursing scholarship is Molly Ginther from Southern California.
